When it comes to acquiring new clients, CSS relies heavily on its own sales force. But it also works with brokers. In order to promote high quality and cost-effective advice, CSS support self-regulation within the industry. At present, this consists of the industry agreement drawn up by curafutura, which is intended to promote quality and transparency among brokers (link to website). In spite of this voluntary agreement, there remain certain unwelcome practices in the broker channel that need to be stopped. That is why CSS is in favour of stepping up cooperation throughout the entire health insurance industry to achieve more extensive, self-regulatory agreements for basic and supplementary insurance, including corresponding sanctions. CSS supports changing the law in such a way that this agreement will be declared generally binding by the federal government at the industry’s request.
