Ozone combined with oxygen is administered in a variety of ways. The oxygen-ozone mix may be injected into the muscles, for example, or introduced into the body via the digestive system. Alternative methods include autologous blood therapy, in which the oxygen-ozone mix is added to the patient's own blood before it is injected or transfused back into their bloodstream. Ozone has disinfecting properties (killing bacteria, viruses and fungi), releases oxygen in human tissue, and thus promotes a healthy blood supply. This has a positive effect on the immune system.
