Energy-balancing therapy according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Certain acupuncture points can give access to the internal organs. These points are located along energy pathways, or meridians, which channel life force (qi, pronounced "chi") through the body. During an acupuncture session, fine needles are inserted into the skin at certain acupuncture points, or these points are stimulated using moxa (a dried and pulverised Asian plant similar to mugwort) to remove energy blockages (4).
Aim: to balance the flow of energy (qi) (4) around the body
Energy (qi): Energy (or qi, pronounced "chi") flows through our bodies and ensures that all vital processes are carried out in balance. Illnesses and complaints are regarded as disruptions to this energy flow which must be balanced out.
