A method of training ear function that concentrates on voice (and music) and hearing (listening); developed by Dr Alfred Tomatis.

Certain exercises are performed to try to improve the patient's hearing. These are generally done through an '"electronic ear", which is a type of headphone. The patient is played virtually inaudible sound frequencies designed systematically to improve their hearing. Gradually, the ear begins to hear frequencies which it had lost over time. It is thus primarily a means of training the hearing.
