Ensuring access to high quality healthcare delivery – for current and future generations – is what motivates us.

The Swiss healthcare system faces a number of challenges, such as supply shortages. Fast access to a suitable service provider cannot always be guaranteed. CSS works together with committed partners to come up with resource-friendly, innovative approaches that are capable of easing these problems. One key approach is integrated care.

How integrated care works

The following points characterise integrated care:

  • Collaboration across disciplines: A variety of stakeholders work together across multiple tiers of care delivery. New roles and treatment pathways lead to better coordination.
  • Patient-centric: Patients are empowered to play an active role in promoting their own health (e.g. through prevention or leading a healthy lifestyle)
  • Digitalisation: Digital solutions are used both by patients and by service providers throughout the treatment pathway (e.g. electronic health records or the Well platform)
  • New incentive structures: Incentives are created to ensure that all parties involved take responsibility and promote the goals of integrated care.

Regional and innovative care delivery concepts

CSS takes regional structures into account. This enables us to work together with committed partners in developing innovative care delivery concepts that match our vision of integrated care. Successful examples include the healthcare networks, the Well digital health platform and Hospital at Home projects.

New care delivery models

CSS both initiates and helps to design new models of care delivery and digital solutions. CSS can apply the findings and knowledge it gains through its involvement in developing new models to further solutions in a particular region.
