CSS has been partnering with Caritas in Central Switzerland since 1994 to help people living below the poverty line. As of 2026, this long tradition has given rise to a new charity event – the CSS Benefit Concert, a performance of high-class music held in aid of people in need.
The CSS Benefit Concert will take place on Friday, 20 November 2026 in the main Concert Hall at the KKL Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre. The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martin Rajna will accompany internationally renowned pianist Alice Sara Ott as the star of the evening. This will be Alice Sara Ott's only appearance in Switzerland in 2026. The event is open to the general public, and tickets are available through regular channels.
Part of the proceeds will go to aid projects in Central Switzerland that support people living in financially straitened circumstances. Thanks to the commitment of CSS and those who have attended events over the years, more than CHF 2 million has been raised for this good cause since 1994.
Social commitment goes back a long way at CSS: Solidarity has been a central concern of the company ever since it was founded as a self-help organisation in 1899. The CSS Benefit Concert is an expression of these basic beliefs and a reminder that poverty is also an issue in Switzerland.
Following the last CSS Theatergala at Lucerne Theatre in 2025, CSS is launching a new era of charitable, cultural activities from November 2026 with the CSS Benefit Concert featuring the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra at the KKL Luzern.
