As a commercial employee, you will take on administrative and organisational respon­sibilities. These include communicating by email, letter and phone, as well as advising customers face to face at the counter.

What you need to boost your chances of getting an apprenticeship

  • Good grades at secondary level A or B.
  • Interest in the healthcare system.
  • Strong proficiency in German.
  • You’re quick to grasp new concepts.
  • You like to be precise in your work.
  • You would describe yourself as conscientious and reliable, and are good at handling confidential information.
  • You like exchanging views with customers and employees.

Training as commercial employee

If you do your commercial apprenticeship at CSS, you’ll be trained in the Health and social insurances system and learn all about the varied world of health insurance.

  • Duration of training 3 years
  • Location of training Throughout Switzerland
  • Classroom instruction 1st and 2nd year: 2 days a week; 3rd year: 1 day a week
  • Training with Vocational Baccalaureate possible
