Buzzing with ideas and deep in animated conversation, participants flow from one room to the next. At DevCon Lozärn, around 400 employees from 9 companies have come together to discuss the latest topics in software development, learn from each other and make new connections.
DevCon Lozärn is a developer conference that originated at CSS and since 2025 has been organised jointly with other companies. Besides CSS, Suva, CONCORDIA and MediData, the new additions are Bison, LUKS group, maxon, Roche and Luzerner Kantonalbank.
The concept is simple: Employees create their own presentations, known as “sessions”, on topics of their choice. Participants are free to choose the sessions that interest them most. The focus is on software development and related areas.
Knowledge sharing is at the heart of the event. It’s also about networking and inspiring one another on the latest software development topics.
With nine companies taking part, DevCon Lozärn has become bigger than ever. This diversity is what makes the conference so valuable, offering insights into various technologies, working models and challenges.
We were delighted when CSS approached us, and it quickly became clear that we wanted to take part in DevCon Lozärn and support it.
This year’s main topic was artificial intelligence. Across a range of sessions, participants explored the latest developments, practical applications and the impact of the technology. Cornelia Diethelm opened the conference with her keynote presentation, AI and society.
A total of 32 sessions were on offer, in a variety of formats and lengths. This allowed everyone to tailor their conference day to their own interests and engage with the topics most relevant to them.
The personal exchanges are a central part of DevCon. During the shared lunch break and at the apéro riche afterwards, there are countless opportunities to connect with colleagues and continue stimulating conversations.
These encounters spark new ideas, strengthen collaboration and foster a culture of innovation – both at CSS and across company boundaries.
I really appreciate the setting that DevCon provides. It’s not an international convention, but a small, personal and informal event.

Every year, a dedicated team puts a great deal of passion and effort into organising DevCon. Since DevCon 2025, this has included members from CSS, Suva, CONCORDIA and MediData. In 2026, they were supported by members from the new partner companies. From planning the rooms and sessions to arranging catering and the apéro, the team took care of every detail.
