What data is on your insurance card
- Personal data: Surname, first name, date of birth, gender and AHV no.
- Insurance data: Insurance and card number, expiry date, name and ID number of the health insurance provider

Worth knowing about the insurance card
Your insurance policy and insurance card are normally all you need to prove you're insured when abroad. Only a few countries require an international insurance certificate.
All insured persons have the option of having personal and medical data, such as allergies, regular medication and more, saved to the card whenever they visit a doctor, dentist or chiropractor. This data provides important information that could prove life-saving in the event of an emergency.
Please show your insurance card each time you visit a doctor’s practice or go into hospital. That will enable your data to be recorded quickly and correctly, and means CSS can be billed directly.
