How advice for family caregivers works
You discuss your current situation with a CSS Health Coach, clarifying the needs of everyone involved. The consultation provides guidance on the key points family caregivers should keep in mind.

Whether you have questions about respite care, home care or other services and options, our experts can provide information on the available options for assistance and support as well as helpful tips and useful contacts. Together, you explore improvements and possible solutions.
Frequently asked questions
The service is for anyone providing personal care and support to a loved one at home – for example, a partner, father or daughter. To use the service, at least one of the two people – the caregiver or the person being cared for – must be insured with CSS.
The CSS Health Coaches will explain how to check whether you are entitled to financial support – for instance, care allowances, supplementary benefits or an attendance allowance.
For persons insured with CSS, the first consultation is free of charge. There may be a charge for any further sessions.
The first session generally lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. You will also learn how to recognise stress early on and techniques for finding inner calm. You will receive helpful checklists and guides. At the end, you and your Health Coach will agree on the next steps.
